No source code leaves your machine. Ever.

Built for how developers actually work

Freelance, salaried, or solo — track the time, bill the client, see where the AI is helping.

Automatic editor tracking

IDE plugins for VS Code, JetBrains, and Neovim send aggregated sessions — no heartbeats spam, no config.

AI-tool attribution

See exactly how much of your code flows through Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, and more. Per project, per week.

Freelance-ready

Log meetings and calls manually, set hourly rates per project, export invoice-grade reports.

Git-aware

Correlate hours with shipped work. Import commits from GitHub or GitLab and see output alongside time.

Privacy-first

Only file paths and languages are tracked. Source code never leaves your machine — and the server is yours.

Client share links

Send clients a read-only report with a PIN-gated share link — no login required, perfect for invoice backup.

Set up once, forget it

No timer to start. No session to remember. Inlinr tracks what you actually do — from the first keystroke.

  1. 01

    Install the plugin

Drop the VS Code, JetBrains, or Neovim extension into your editor. Sign in once with GitHub.

  2. 02

    Code normally

Heartbeats stream in the background — only file paths, language, and editor. No source code leaves your machine.

  3. 03

    See where it went

Per-project hours, AI-tool share, focus blocks, invoice-ready exports. Available the moment you save a file.

Frequently asked

Do you see my source code?

No. Plugins only send file paths, language, editor, and branch — never the file contents. What we store is metadata about what you're working on, not the code itself.

How is this different from WakaTime?

Same idea for the passive tracking layer — but we add AI-tool attribution (Copilot/Cursor/Claude Code/…), manual entries for meetings and calls, hourly rates, invoice exports, and client-facing share links. Built for freelance devs who need to bill, not just log.

Can I import my WakaTime history?

Yes. The Imports → WakaTime flow accepts a WakaTime export and backfills your dashboard with years of history, including per-project, per-language, and per-editor breakdowns.

Is it self-hostable?

No — Inlinr is a SaaS. We run it on our own infrastructure so the experience stays fast and consistent. Your data lives only in our Postgres database, and we don't read your code.

Which editors are supported?

VS Code is available today. JetBrains and Neovim are on the roadmap. If your editor already speaks the WakaTime API, a fork is a small patch away — reach out if you want to ship one.

Do you have a public stats badge for my README?

Yes. Enable Public stats in Settings, then embed inlinr.com/u/<handle>/badge.svg (compact) or inlinr.com/u/<handle>/stats?format=svg (full card) in your profile README.
