Time tracking with WakaTime plugins
No native Inlinr plugin for your editor yet? Its WakaTime plugin works today. Inlinr speaks enough of the WakaTime API for JetBrains, Neovim, Zed, Xcode, Emacs and the 50+ other editors WakaTime supports to send their time here, and their status bar shows today's total from Inlinr.
Get it on wakatime.comSet it up
- 1
Install your editor's WakaTime plugin, if it is not there already.
- 2
In Inlinr, open Settings → Editors and create a WakaTime key. It is shown once.
- 3
Point the plugin at Inlinr in ~/.wakatime.cfg, with your key:
Terminal[settings] api_url = https://inlinr.com/api/compat/wakatime/v1 api_key = waka_…
What gets recorded
- Time per project, branch, language and file, from editor activity
- The editor, so JetBrains and Neovim hours are counted apart
- Claude Code sessions, when wakatime-cli syncs their transcripts
Good to know
- · Projects are matched by name, so they merge with the same repository tracked by the Inlinr extension.
- · Editor plugins never say which assistant wrote what, so AI attribution needs the Inlinr extension or Claude Code plugin.
- · Native JetBrains and Neovim plugins are under consideration on the roadmap.
- · Inlinr is not affiliated with or endorsed by WakaTime. The plugins are WakaTime's own open-source releases, used unmodified.
Never file contents, prompts or replies. The full list of what is sent · How coding time is counted, and why two trackers disagree
