Three ways to bill a project
A project's Invoicing settings now hold one billing choice:
- By the hour, at the project's rate, as before.
- By the day, at a day rate. Days worked follow the project's rule: half days by default, whole days, or hours divided by the hours in your day. Before issuing, each date can be set to 0, ½ or 1, and a date never bills more than one day across invoices.
- For a fixed price, split into instalments that add up to 100 %, such as a 30 % deposit and the balance. A draft bills the instalment you pick; the time you tracked still shows what the price earned per hour, and Left to bill counts the instalments not invoiced yet.
A rate no longer has to be typed for every project. Set a default on your account and on each client: a project with no rate yet, filed under a client, starts with the client's rate, else yours.
The mentions a French invoice needs
Invoicing → Settings holds your details as the seller, and the invoice prints the VAT that applies:
- under the franchise, no VAT and the mention TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI;
- in France, VAT at your rate, with a rate per extra line when they differ;
- for a business elsewhere in the EU with a VAT number, reverse charge;
- outside the EU, no VAT.
Between businesses it also prints the late-payment interest (the legal minimum unless you set another rate), the €40 recovery fee and your early-payment discount. If you have opted to pay VAT on debits, the invoice says so. A client can be a private person, whose invoices leave out the terms meant for businesses.
Create in Qonto
If you invoice from Qonto, connect it and, on Pro, a draft offers Create in Qonto. Inlinr sends the lines, the period, the due date, the VAT or its exemption and any discount, and creates the invoice in Qonto as a draft, or finalized if you choose. From then on it carries Qonto's number and is cancelled in Qonto, not with an Inlinr credit note; its status follows Qonto, and a cancelled one frees its days for the next draft.
Qonto does not send them as e-invoices yet: what you get today is an ordinary Qonto invoice, made from your tracked time.
Overview
Invoicing now opens on an overview: what you billed this month and this year before VAT, the invoices waiting for payment, in Inlinr and in Qonto, and what each project has left to bill. If you own or manage a team, its projects are there too.
